How we came to be
We kept hearing the same complaint.
Paws & Co Group was already looking after thousands of West Yorkshire pets long before it opened a vet practice. Through The Dog Training Company, and through the boarding kennels and cattery at Yorkshire Paws & Co, we spoke to dog and cat owners every single day.
And every single day, somebody told us the same thing. Their vet had been bought by a chain. The bill had gone up, the faces had changed, and nobody could tell them what anything would cost until it was already done. They wanted a practice that felt like it belonged to the people inside it, and charged like it.
So we built one. Paws & Co Veterinary Centre opened at Capitol Park in Tingley as a purpose-built practice, with our own surgical theatre, digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory and a dedicated dental suite, all under one roof. Ten to twenty minutes from Leeds and Wakefield, just off junction 28 of the M62.
We publish every price. We put routine care into simple monthly plans. And we stayed independent, because that is the whole point.
Why independent matters
The regulator looked at UK vet care. Here’s what it found.
In March 2026 the Competition and Markets Authority published its final decision on UK veterinary services after a two-year investigation. Among its findings: practices owned by the large corporate groups charge more than independents for like-for-like care, and pet owners often can’t find out what a treatment costs before agreeing to it.
What that means at Paws & Co
We are independently owned and always have been. There is no group pricing structure to follow and no target to hit.
Every price is on this website. If a treatment isn’t listed, ask, and we’ll tell you before we do anything.
Our health plans exist so that routine care is a known monthly number, not a series of surprises.
The practice

Because we started from an empty unit rather than inheriting an old practice, everything here was chosen for the work we do.
Surgical theatre
Routine and advanced surgery in-house, from neutering and lump removals to orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures.
Diagnostics under one roof
Digital x-ray, ultrasound including cardiac scans, and an in-house laboratory for blood, urine and microscopy, so answers come the same day.
Dedicated dental suite
A separate dental suite with digital dental x-ray, for scale and polish through to major extractions. Dental services.
Unlimited consultations on plan
Vet and nurse appointments included on both health plans.
Nurse clinics
Senior, weight and diabetic clinics, nail clips, post-op checks.
24/7 VidiVet advice
Free digital vet support for every client, including bank holidays.
Out-of-hours partner
Vets Now Bradford covers emergencies when we’re closed.
