Nutraren Kidney Support Capsules for Dogs & Cats — Omega-3 Renal Supplement

Nutraren is a veterinary kidney support supplement for dogs and cats, made by Nutravet. It combines high-strength omega-3 fatty acids with a natural toxin binder and antioxidants to support kidney function, and is the product our vets most often recommend when blood or urine tests show the kidneys need a helping hand.

Kidney disease is common in older cats in particular, and early nutritional support can make a real difference to how well they do. Nutraren is designed to be given every day, long term, alongside any diet or treatment your vet has advised.

How to give it

Daily dose by body weight. Cats under 5kg: 1 capsule. Dogs 5 to 10kg: 2 capsules. Dogs 10 to 15kg: 3 capsules. Dogs over 15kg: 3 capsules plus 1 extra for every additional 5kg. Give whole or pierce and squeeze onto food. For continuous use, or as directed by your vet.

Pack sizes

45 capsules (around six weeks for a cat) or 90 capsules (around three months for a cat). Store between 5 and 25°C, away from direct sunlight.

Nutraren Advanced liquid for cats

For cats who won't take capsules, or who need extra help with appetite and hydration, Nutraren Advanced is a palatable liquid drink. It contains calcium carbonate to bind excess phosphorus, prebiotic fibres and the nutrients a cat with kidney disease tends to run short of. Supplied as a pack of 4 x 150ml bottles. Give daily from a bowl or syringe as directed by your vet. Refrigerate once opened.

Can I give Nutraren with a prescription kidney diet?
Yes. It's designed to complement renal diets rather than replace them.

Is it suitable for cats who won't take capsules?
Most owners pierce the capsule and squeeze the contents onto food. If that's still a struggle, the Advanced liquid is the alternative.

How long before I see a difference?
Nutraren supports the kidneys over the long term. Your vet will monitor progress through routine blood and urine tests rather than visible changes day to day.
